  অ  ন্ত  রা  লে (প্রচ্ছদ - ডঃ অসিত কুমার মাইতি)  অভিরাজ এরপর বারংবার যোগাযোগ করতে চেয়েও করতে পারেনি , শেষমেশ বাধ্য হয়ে কারণটা জানতে কলকাতায় অপূর্বার নার্সিংহোমে চলে এল । নার্সিংহোমের রিশেপশানিষ্ট কে অপূর্বার কথা জিজ্ঞেস করতে বলল , উনি এক মাস ছুটিতেই আছে । অভি ফিরে আসে । এক মাস পর আবারও নার্সিংহোমে এসে খোঁজ নিল , পুনরায় রিশেপশানিষ্ট বলল , ম্যাডাম একটি এমারজেন্সি লিভ নিয়েছেন তিন দিন আগে । কোনো বিশেষ সূচনা থাকলে জানাতে পারেন আমরা খবর করে দেব । কথাটা শেষ হতে না হতেই , অভির ফোনে একটি অপরিচিত ফোন আসে – ফোনটা ধরতেই ফোনের ওপার থেকে বলল , দাদা আমি অপু দিদির পাশের বাড়ির ভাই অর্ঘ । অভি জিজ্ঞেস করল – ভাই দিদি কোথায় ? ওদিকে সবকিছু ঠিক আছে তো ? অর্ঘ   ভয়ে বলল - না , দাদা এখানে কিছুই ঠিক নেই । দিদি মাস খানেক ধরে অসুস্থ , সারাদিন বিছানাতেই রয়েছে বার দুয়েক ডাক্তার ও এসেছিল । এখন বাড়িতেও অবস্থা খুবই খারাপ , অক্সিজেন সিলিন্ডার চলছে । তুমি জান কিনা জানি না , আমাকে শুভমিতা ( অপূর্বার বোন ) একবার এটা জানাতে বলেছিল । তুমি পারলে একবার এসো । রাখ...

পে ন্সিল শব্দটা শুনলেই আমাদের মনে একটা আবেগের জায়গা তৈরি হয়। খুব ছোটবেলায় যখন আমরা হাতে খড়ি দিয়েছিলাম প্রথম তারপর থেকেই পেন্সিল যেন আমাদের জীবনের সঙ্গে ওতপ্রত ভাবে জড়িত আছে। আজ এই পেন্সিল স্কুল পড়ুয়া, শিল্পী থেকে শুরু করে বিভিন্ন কর্ম ক্ষেত্রে সবার খুব অতি প্রয়োজনীয় একটি দ্রব্য। এই পেন্সিল তৈরির ইতিহাস নিয়ে বহু গল্প আছে। ব্রিটিশ লাইব্রেরির একটি প্রদর্শনী লেখা থেকে জানা যায় “মেকিং ইউর মার্ক” মানব ইতিহাসের শেষ পাঁচ হাজার বছরের মধ্যে লেখার প্রবাহের গল্প বলে। পূর্ববর্তী সময় থেকে এবং বিশেষ করে মধ্যযুগ থেকে পান্ডুলিপি আঁকা বা পরিকল্পনা করার জন্য সীসার গলদা ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। সিসা একটি রূপালী রেখা ছেড়ে যায়, যা কালি বা পেইন্ট/রঙ দিয়ে নিষ্প্রভ করা যায়।  পেন্সিল শব্দটি এসেছে ওল্ড ফ্রেঞ্চ 'পিনসেল' এবং ল্যাটিন 'পেনিসিলাস' বা 'একটি ছোট্ট লেজ' থেকে এবং মূলত মধ্যযুগের একজন শিল্পীর উটের চুলের সূক্ষ্ম ব্রাশকে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে যদিও বলে রাখা ভালো ব্রাশ অংকনের ক্ষেত্রে একটি ফর্ম এর ব্যবহার করে যা ঐতিহাসিকরা পেটোগ্রাফ বা গুহাচিত্র বলে উল্লেখ করেছে সেই থেকে লেখনি ব...
